Apple Day 2023!

Updated: Nov 12

Grow For Life made the most of a sunny October morning washing, boshing and pressing apples to make our very own flavourful apple juice. Phil Blacker returned with his beautiful handmade apple press and approx. 120 visitors joined us to take part in each stage of the process.

We were all inspired with the testimony of one of the volunteers whose life has changed in the best way thanks to the healing and therapeutic powers of gardening, as well as the support given by Grow For Life. Delicious homemade cakes were on sale as well as some handmade scented lavender bags made by one of our generous garden hosts. A raffle was also held.

We are so grateful and delighted to share that we managed to raise £700.

A big thank you to volunteers, staff and trustees who are involved with Grow For Life. Many thanks to those who baked cakes, shared their knowledge about apples, helped out on the day and behind the scenes. We also thank our visitors with whom it is always a joy to share what we do. We hope to see you next year!

Bottles of apple juice are available to buy at £3.50 each, and to collect from the Walled Garden in Newton St Loe!
