Grow for Life was thrilled to be able to recently welcome HRH Prince William to our Walled garden in Newton St Loe, to share more on our vision, to see a world where people experiencing low confidence, anxiety, depression or isolation are restored to live life to the full.

During the visit, HRH met some of the members of one of our therapeutic groups in the garden and was led by Eleanor Carr, our horticultural therapy lead.

Alex Eldridge our Director said:
“It was an honour to show him the work we are doing and how we welcome people into the safe space of a garden where we inspire, build skills, create connections and provide a pathway to work. Our work aligns closely with the Duchy of Cornwall’s vision for Positive Impact for People, Places and Planet.”

The team found HRH’s genuine interest in talking to our volunteers and gardeners about their experiences hugely encouraging, and were delighted with the generous offer of a couple of damson trees for the orchard - who knows if we will branch out into damson gin alongside our apple juice!?
