It was week 9 on our City & Guilds Horticulture course and we helped the Parks Department to pot on Verbena bonariensis. These small plant with benefit from being planting into a bigger pot, as they may have used up all the nutrients, they’ll certainly need more root space to grow and avoid getting pot bound.
It's just going to take a bigger plant.
Next we found more of our plants for the plant ID around the nursery. Its important to touch and connect with the plant material—sometime the texture isn’t what we expect, like the rubbery sedums/stonecrops.
It was time to see how many trees we knew, with a trial run of tree identification in the afternoon, we have all made great progress since we started.
